This project aims to examine whether gender plays a role in
how individuals respond to childhood sexual assault (CSA)
and understand what difficulties there might be for men and
women who are survivors of sexual trauma endured in
childhood.
You would complete a short online questionnaire asking for information
such as the age(s) you experienced this trauma and if you have received
therapy to support you. There will also be an interview asking questions
about attitudes and feelings surrounding the event(s). You won’t be asked
to talk about the event(s) itself or anything you are uncomfortable with.
The interviews can be face-to-face, online via Zoom or via an online
questionnaire, this is entirely your choice. Any identifiable information
won’t be used and you can stop the interview or withdraw at any time.
Your participation and contribution are invaluable to the success of
this study and you will help advance our understanding of how
survivors of CSA heal and cope psychologically. Your participation
could impact how healthcare professionals better understand people
coping and recovering from CSA.
